YOU CAN BE HERE FOR THE GIRLS WITH US!

At Here for the Girls, we say, “It takes a village to raise a nonprofit,” we are so grateful for our “village” of supporters who share their time, talents, and treasure with us to support our mission and the women we serve. From businesses and community organizations to individuals and families, we all work together to make a difference in the lives of young women with breast cancer and their families. If you’d like to join our village, here are some ways to get involved with H4TG.

83 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly towards our programs. We fund our services solely with revenue from donations and events (no government funding). We charge no fees for our member services.

Golf

Our annual "Breast" Ball Golf Tournament at Kingsmill Resort is one of three primary fundraising events at Here for the Girls, and is a great opportunity for Hampton Roads regional businesses to work side-by-side to support a good cause. This event is a fun day of golf, course contests, prizes, raffles, food, friends, and fun! But it’s also a chance for attendees to learn more about the Here for the Girls mission and the women we serve.

Gala

The Pink Carpet Gala is the organization’s annual signature event, and it welcomes all supporters, members, and friends who are tied to the mission of supporting young women affected by breast cancer. We will celebrate the unveiling of A Calendar to Live By/Guide to Caring for Yourself during an intimate fundraising dinner and auction. The evening will be one of joyous and optimistic celebrations as we write the new narrative of our organization. Guests will interact with our ambassadors' powerful and empowering stories while delving into the organization's mission like never before.

Our 19th Annual Gala is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at The Maine of Williamsburg. Due to limited seating, this event is invitation-only. If you are interested in sponsoring, hosting a table, or being added to the invitation list, please contact us at gala@hereforthegirls.org.

Go Beyond Pink

You can be Here for the Girls with us! We invite you to create your fundraiser to support young women with breast cancer. We call these events “Go Beyond Pink” because the funds support our members and go beyond raising awareness (signified by the color pink). Your fundraiser will help fund programs and services such as our annual weekend wellness retreat, monthly virtual support gatherings, and programs for women with metastatic breast cancer.

Fundraisers are anytime and anywhere -- breast cancer doesn’t just happen in October! Sell t-shirts, host an event and ask for donations, ask your employer to match employee donations, do a virtual run, or come up with your fun idea! Using your talent and passion to raise funds for the girls is easy. We are here to help. Please email us at beyondpink@hereforthegirls.org for information on getting started, or click here to complete an interest form.

A Calendar to Live By

The Here for the Girls annual A Calendar to Live By features breast cancer survivors and their stories; tucked inside the calendar is A Guide to Caring for Yourself, which offers essential health information on breast cancer, managing risk, early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and other related topics. The funds we raise through this vital project support our mission to improve the lives of young women affected by breast cancer.

A Calendar to Live By helps fund our mission! Our newest members (often newly diagnosed) receive a Calendar and Guide in their new member welcome packet, an initial source of support and information for young survivors. The included breast health guide gives all women knowledge about breast health and information about reducing breast cancer risk. Our calendars are distributed not only to survivors but also to members of the community at various events and health fairs.

Annual Appeal

The Annual Appeal is our year-end giving campaign that doubles donor dollars through December. Each year, we invite matching angels to double the love by increasing the impact of donations. Like you, our donors hope for a cure for breast cancer in their lifetime because they know someone who has had the disease or has lost someone they love to it. Help us help these young women who have breast cancer by becoming a matching angel. Please get in touch with us at donate@hereforthegirls.org to learn more.
