Thoughts from Chris: October 2021

October 13, 2021

Dear Friends of H4TG,

As we launch into the month of October, known world-wide as breast cancer awareness month, consider taking some action during this month of “pink.” It may be to learn more about breast cancer for yourself or someone you care for. It may be that you take charge of your health or encourage your family and friends to do so. You may take time this month to meet with a friend or family who is living with a breast cancer diagnosis or simply stop for a moment of silence for someone near and dear to you that you’ve lost from this disease.

This month of “pink” at H4TG will be spent continuing to LIVE our yearlong theme of being INSPIRED by the many stories and journeys of the ladies who are part of the H4TG family. We’ve said it before - while breast cancer does not define a woman, it shapes who they become after their diagnosis. We know firsthand that having courage and strength; being powerful, unstoppable, resilient, clever, brave, determined, fierce, illuminating; being a warrior and having the ability to rise above it all is needed with this diagnosis. We also know firsthand that the actions we take during the month of “pink” need to stretch throughout the entire calendar year.

So yes, take action and celebrate the “pink” this month, but when you flip the page to November, stay inspired to support the women in this organization, because for them, their fight LIVES way beyond October.

The Calendar Ambassadors for A Calendar to Live By 2021, whose words have "Inspired" us throughout this year.

Stay Healthy + Inspired,
Chris Schwab
