Stories of Gratitude: Melissa

Favorite holiday dessert: Vegan Peanut Butter Pie

After my cancer diagnosis, I elected to remove dairy and processed sugar from my diet. Unfortunately, that meant that the familiar holiday cookies were not available. Feeling a bit disconnected from holiday traditions, I went in search of a dessert that I could enjoy each year. Much to my surprise, my son also loves this dessert and now makes it with me each year. It has become more than a dessert, it has become a way to connect cherished memories with a different, although equally wonderful, version of my life.

A message of gratitude to our members and supporters: A cancer journey is not a sprint; it is a long and winding road full of uncertainties and uncharted terrain. We are so grateful for willingness to be a part of this journey, however long it may take.
