Ms. March – Jennifer Nguyen (Diagnosed at 39, 2021)

I’m an optimist! Always trying to find the positive side of things, then I heard the words, “You have cancer,” and I was dumbstruck. I was diagnosed on February 2, 2021, with IDC. I couldn’t breathe or think. My life flashed before my eyes, and I honestly didn’t know how to get through this! Why me? What about Kaitlyn? I questioned my faith, but then I realized that God gives us what He knows we can handle, and I can do hard things! Two weeks after my diagnosis, I went to my first H4TG meeting. I had no idea how much that first meeting would change my life! I was welcomed with open arms, met some amazing women, and built beautiful friendships. I found a safe space where I could share my fears, cry, laugh, and hear stories of others going through similar things. H4TG became much more than a support group to me; they became a part of my family. Cancer took so much from me, and I am still trying to piece my life back together. It has not been an easy road, but I would not have been as strong as I was without the unconditional love and support of my “tribe” of friends, family, and pink sisters. I’m working on finding inner peace, evaluating what is important, and letting the other stuff go!
