Ms. September - Elizabeth Lancaster (Diagnosed at 38, 2018)

I was busy crafting, planning a spring garden, house projects and travel adventures with my husband when life’s focus shifted. In 2018, a 3D mammogram followed by an ultrasound and biopsy, found a hormone positive tumor in my left breast. The best option for my health was to remove both breasts and all breast tissue, chemo, and long-term hormone blocker use. I did not have any reconstruction and confidently wear my flat chest! Cancer is ugly and, in many ways, never ending fear! The effects last long after the treatments. It left a physical, emotional and financial warpath! You must face it head on with every ounce of bravery and strength. I grew so much in my faith, and I found ME again! I became more passionate and intentional with each new day I was blessed with. I knew I had to use my story to advocate, educate and help others on their journey. You never know who you are going to be able to encourage and support - as you so painfully know the journey they are on. I found the H4TG Chester group originally wanting to help others but quickly learned how much I needed these women too! I ultimately found my battle buddy and best friend through H4TG.
