Changes to Our Board

June 29, 2022

It definitely takes a “village,” and we are beyond grateful for our talented and dedicated Board of Directors. As the Executive Director, I work closely with the Board to ensure financial stability and seek strategic guidance and oversight for the future of the organization.

Earlier this year, we welcomed new members to our Board Leadership as well as brought on two new member representatives to the Board. We believe in a diverse group of individuals to represent what is best for H4TG and our member representatives serve a unique role as a direct liaison between our members and the Board of Directors. We are grateful for their time and the difference they make in the lives of our women and their families.

I am honored to introduce our Board Leadership along with our new member representatives.

Meet Linda McKee, Board President

Linda is a Service Line Administrator for Oncology with Riverside Health System. She is a proven health care executive with 27 years of demonstrated experience in development of new and existing markets, and providing innovative solutions for growth and profitability. Linda has direct experience with strategic plan development and implementation, and actualizing plans for results. Her desire is to create, identify, and lead profitable growth initiatives, resulting in improving care, quality, and innovation for populations served.

Meet Joyce Ortiz, Board Vice President

Joyce is a Senior Strategic Communications Manager with NASA Langley Research Center. She is a self-starter with a record of success in developing and executing internal communication and employee engagement programs for a global Fortune 500 company and, currently, NASA’s Langley Research Center. Joyce leverages rapport, experience, expertise, and creative thinking to ensure a strong communications culture at every level in the organization to achieve strategic goals, benefit from true employee engagement, and effectively manage change. She applies strong project management skills and Six Sigma methodologies to successfully lead and execute complex projects. Joyce is well-versed in intranet platform management and strategic communication planning.

Meet Jackie Mierle, Member Representative

Jackie has worked in real estate with Liz Moore and Associates for 9 years behind the scenes in Operations, Planning and Events and more recently in Sales. She served on the committee for Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars for two years in a marketing role but is excited to switch gears and direct her attention to Here for the Girls, Inc. In just a year since her diagnosis, the Here for the Girls family has been an incredible breast cancer resource, a reason to leave the house, and a shoulder to cry on. She is looking forward to walking this new path to serve this community.

Meet Erin Westover, Member Representative

Erin is a New Jersey native who found her home in Williamsburg, VA in 2018. She has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for the past twelve years, and has become adept in communicating, grant writing, and programming. She was diagnosed with Stage 2B triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma in January 2021 and became a member of Here for the Girls very shortly thereafter. This organization enveloped her with more love, support, and sisterhood than she could have ever imagined. This year, she was granted the honor of becoming a board member on the H4TG Board of Directors. Through this position, she hopes to be a liaison for all members and to the board, to obtain the highest quality of support possible. She is beyond excited to talk to you and hear all your ideas for the future of the organization!
